About

Daniele Romagnoli

I'm an Italian aerospace engineer. I write near-future thrillers about people solving hard problems, anchored in real science and researched engineering. I live in Rome, Italy.

More about me

My debut novel, *Moon Shadows*, follows investigative journalist Alex Carter as he traces a pattern of lunar lander failures toward a conclusion no government will print. *Close Approach*, a standalone novella, is set in the same world.

When I'm not writing, I work as a project manager at the European Space Agency. Otherwise, I'm at home with my wife and our two daughters, or reading about space missions and exploration.

Moon Shadows

Moon Shadows follows investigative journalist Alex Carter as he traces a pattern of American lunar lander failures that nobody in Washington, Brussels, or Moscow is willing to explain. Working alongside Dr. Evelyn Pierce — the engineer her own company scapegoated after the Aquila-3 wreck — he pulls threads toward a conclusion no government will print: the failures aren't failures.

Killing the Sun

My second novel follows Alex Carter, the investigative journalist at the heart of Moon Shadows. Set roughly four years later — same protagonist pulling on a different thread: a coordinated suppression campaign against space-based solar power.

I'm currently outlining. Drafting begins Fall 2026.
